How we use personal information

This notice explains what personal information Info Insight Limited collects through this website and in professional correspondence, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who we are

Info Insight Limited is the controller of the personal information described in this notice. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 10857040, at 167‑169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London W1W 5PF, and registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under number ZC287263. For anything about your personal information, email richard@infoinsight.co.uk.

What this notice covers

It covers enquiries made through this website, email correspondence with us, and the professional contact details we hold for people working in local government, public health and social housing.

It does not cover data we work with on client projects. That work is carried out inside the client's own environment on the client's instructions, and the client's own privacy notice applies.

What we collect, and where it comes from

  • Website enquiries. Your name, organisation, email address, the topic you choose and your message, when you use the contact form.
  • Correspondence. What you send us by email, and our replies.
  • Professional contact details. Name, job title, organisation and work email address of people in relevant public sector roles. These come from information the organisation itself publishes, such as staff structures, committee papers and council websites, or from earlier correspondence with you. Where an address is not published, it may be inferred from the organisation's standard address format.

We do not collect special category data through this website, and we do not use cookies or analytics on it.

Why we use it, and on what basis

  • To respond to your enquiry and to arrange and hold the conversation you asked for. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us, or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
  • To send relevant analysis to people in public sector roles, such as short benchmark packs built from published data, sent to your work address. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in telling organisations about work relevant to their services. Each message says how to opt out.
  • To deliver and administer contracts with the organisations we work for. The lawful basis is contract, and our legal obligations for financial records.

Opting out

If you would rather not hear from us, reply to any message saying so, or email richard@infoinsight.co.uk. We will stop straight away and keep only your email address on a suppression list, so that you are not contacted again.

Who else handles it

We do not sell personal information or share it for anyone else's marketing. A small number of service providers process it on our behalf:

  • Microsoft, for email and file storage. Our Microsoft 365 data is held in UK data centres.
  • Netlify, which hosts this website and receives contact form submissions. Netlify may process data outside the UK, under the safeguards UK data protection law requires.
  • Google Fonts, which supplies the typeface on this site. Your browser requests the font from Google, which receives your IP address as part of that request.

Where it is held

Our email and files are stored in the UK. Our Managing Director may access them from within the European Economic Area, which UK law recognises as giving an adequate level of protection.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries and correspondence: up to two years after our last contact, unless they become part of a contract.
  • Contract and financial records: six years after the end of the financial year they relate to.
  • Professional contact details: deleted when you opt out, when we learn you have left the role, or after two years without any engagement.
  • Suppression list: kept for as long as we send any email, so that an opt‑out is honoured.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it or stop using it. You have an absolute right to object to its use for direct marketing. Email richard@infoinsight.co.uk and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Changes to this notice

We will update this notice when how we use personal information changes. Last updated 28 October 2026.
